Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans meet in not so great circumstances. After being undercover for almost two years, Thayne has brought down Mills Lang, the world’s most ruthless arms dealer. But his victory is short lived for as soon as the bust goes down, a hit has been placed on him. So enter, Jarrett Evans. Former Marine now, more or less a hired gun, is tasked with keeping Thayne Wolfe alive. Little did he know that Thayne would be so beautiful and so fast to press all his buttons.
Thayne is absolutely furious that he has a babysitter! A gorgeous, hunky, too good looking for his own good, babysitter! Jarrett infuriates him as well as totally turns him on with his every look. Between keeping his new, ridiculous identity straight and still connecting the dots to permanently keep Mills Lang behind bars, if not with a needle in his arm, Thayne finds his attraction to Jarrett a harder battle to win.
As much as he wants to kiss his beautiful new bodyguard, his past his a heavy burden on his shoulders. After being with a monster for two years Thayne finds it hard to sit still and let others do the work, especially when a part of his soul was killed by the arms dealer.
Even if he hated it at first, Thayne finds Jarrett's company a welcome change. And slowly Jarrett helps him heal from the greatest torture Mills Lang made him endure.
Fighting the attraction between them doesn't seem so prudent anymore but will they even get out of the ordeal alive to pursue that attraction, when Mills Lang hires one of the best assassins in the world to go after Thayne?
Truly loved everything about this book. Wow, was the chemistry between these guys off the charts! And the actual sex? Man on man! That was just delicious! lol..
Amazing story, amazing characters and just a fantastic book!
But then, what's with my rating?!
Well, It's truly just my own personal pickiness, at times I found there was too much talk on protocol or whatnot that I found it kind of boring when it went on to long descriptions.
But again, that's all just me. This is an amazing read! Do pick it up!

Patricia Logan is a brilliant writer of M/M erotic romance novels. Death and Destruction is her first novel in a new series of the same name. While she is noted for her BDSM books, this one lacks that aspect. It does however contain a graffic description of a brutal, sadistic murder which is far worse than any scene in any of her BDSM novels. I could have done without my nightmares that resulted. That one criticism aside, this book has a fabulous plot which is full of action and suspense and a very hot romance between the two principal characters, Thane Wolfe and Jarrett Evans. Wolfe is just finishing a two year undercover operation for the ATF which results in the capture of a notorious and vicious leader of a gang that sells high end weapons and narcotics. His name is Mills Lang and because of Wolfe's destruction of his business and his witnessing Lang commit a murder, he is determined to have Wolfe killed before he can testify against him. From his pretrial incarceration, Lang hires one of the best hit men whose reputation is that he never fails to kill his target. Wolfe is given protection in the form of a extremely handsome and lethal bodyguard, Jarrett Evans. Both Wolfe and Evans are gay but as they hide from the assassin they resist having any sex despite their equal desire to do so because Evans does not want to be distracted from his protection duties. As part of their hiding, they move to a different part of Los Angeles and go to work in a bizarre hair dressing salon. This portion of the book is laugh out loud funny giving the reader a respite from the tension that thrums through the rest of the plot. It also results in Wolfe and Evans finally giving into their desires and having incredibly hot and sensual sex that could knock your socks off. Altogether, this is a wonderful, exciting and stimulating book which you cannot miss.
So just to be clear, Jarrett Evans is MY new book boyfriend! I called him, you can't have him! ;)
I absolutely loved this book! A solid read with everything I want in a book. The book was well written with fantastic characters. I enjoyed the story line and the build up between the MCs was perfect. Their chemistry was off the hook. Although the attraction was there from the start, they didn't fall into bed right away. But when they did, whew boy...holy hotness! These guys are smokin' hot together!
The plot was well paced and very exciting. The suspense/action was set at an enjoyable steady pace and there was a lot of humor, which I loved. You also got a good feel for the characters. I'm anxious to see where they go from here.
This is an exciting start to a new series. I can't wait to read the next one! Highly recommend!
